The role of color in a serious line of neckties

As a boy I wore Brooks Brothers suits, shirts and ties which my father bought for me in classic colors and designs - which was probably all Brooks Brothers sold at that time. Note I still wear button down collars most of the time.

We now sell ties made mostly from classic stripes, solids, pin dots silks...

Film Noir Buff and others have encouraged us to expand our textures and we have done so in the past with grenadines and Irish poplins as an example. And we have had fun using classic textures and done well.

Now inspired by a recent FNB suggestion to expand our offerings of bright colors we have cautiously ventured into printed Thai silks which can range from whimsical elephants (think Hermes meets Thailand) to bright abstract art.

You can see some here: http://www.samhober.com/thai-printed-silk-pocket-squares-en/

Using Thai prints is natural for us as we are in Thailand and it goes with the territory we also use exotic mudmee silks etc to make ties.

The question now is should we develop a line of bright English woven silks?

Some of those prints show impeccable taste. My compliments.

lt's so difficult to find the `right' neck tie. l look and look and look and never find the perfect tie.

I liked those raw silk ties that Drakes did this summer.

I'd have liked to have seen them offered in more summery colours like Lime green, coral &c.  Nice to wear under a linen jacket.

David,

What I think your site needs is a search engine with drop down menus.  Those dropdowns should include:
- Main color (including a choice for "multicolor)
- Secondary color (including a choice for "multicolor)
- Material
- Weave
- Availability

You can refine that further later on, but something like that would allow people to find quickly through your collection.  From a business standpoint, it's critically important for you to help prospective customers go through your existing inventory.

With regard to ties, it would be fun to see more ties in traditional weaves found in suiting and shirtings, but in silk: gingham, POW, houndstooth, etc.

I like your grenadines a lot, especially the new striped ones.  It would be interesting to see different colorways.

I'd like a shirt out of this silk.  Wow, beautiful stuff.
