Those derby shoos don't look straight laced.
Actually, since it is relevant to dressing: the phrase isn't 'straight-laced', it's 'strait-laced' and describes tightly laced stays or bodice not shoe laces. Moreover, it is strait-laced of me (ie uptight) to mention this.
