What is so weird about this is that our age sees puritanical the air-brushing out of Churchill's cigar (which he enjoyed smoking most of the way to 90 years of age). The air-brushing is done by control-freaks and dishonest bowdlerizers. But then the fashion guys come along and accept that there might be something good about a decent cigar but they cannot go so far as to say that it should actually be smoked.

There is a lot of yap from some people about, say, sporting clothes but when they let us see them they are in the same condition as the day that they were picked up and they stand there wearing them in their suburban back gardens, striking a sportsmanlike pose, for the camera. That seems to be it. It is a shooting suit but they couldn't possibly risk getting it muddied or torn.

WTF is the point in having a shooting suit if you probably don't even have access to a gun; don't know one end from the other anyway, and are possibly an urban vegetarian? Posing your shooting suit on the www is just pathetic. Holding an unsmoked cigar as some tepid testament to 'style' is equally moronic and an insult to the audience that you want to attract and entertain.

I hope that they give me my subscription back.
