Re: The Kings of Cool

Thanks Chris.
I'd never seen that shot before & really like it.
I think it sums up better than any of my rambling posts the Ivy League style we have in London. One of many aspects of 'The Look' worldwide, but it does show the way things are done on Russell Street.
Inspiring.
The picture has everything really -

Thanks again.

Re: The Kings of Cool

Before he devolved from a cooly dressed first-rate jazz artist to a third-rate rock star, Miles got his clothes made at Emsley tailors in N.Y.

Just thinking of Tab Hunter...

From FNB to the J.Simons website...

Here's a shot which would grace JS's cyber-shop-window...

IMVHO.

Re: The Kings of Cool

Hi everybody.
It seems like Miles Davis is wearing one of his raglan-sleeves jackets in that picture..

Miles also wears one of those 'club' collars that Cooly likes on that sleeve.

Other McQueen's photos:

As for the shoes he likely wore in the pics, I would bet on the Playboy boots, with the off white, center creased jeans (or whipcord/corduroys, since some pics show kinda 'ribbed' texture or so).

Re: The Kings of Cool

They get a mention here:

http://j.simons.mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/

Shoes page.

Would the music be on the 'Skinheads' thread?
It's either Bad Manners or Buster Bloodvessel solo & I guess it's called 'Happy' or 'I'm so Happy' or 'So Happy'???
Never heard it before but I'm not much of a student of Mr. BBs works.
