Ballet in Oklahoma is a very good thread.
There was the musical of course in the 1950s.
Cruiser pops in. There is the Grand Ole Opryin Nashville. Cruiser likes neither ballet nor opera but he had to take his daughters and anyway Nashville is less formal than posh places like Atlanta.
After Arizona laundry I had to google Oklahoma ballet:-

Not as established as in 'old Europe', where both ballet and opera are faggot heaven, but interesting nonetheless.

Everyone is an expert on Styleforum, everyone... When they are proven wrong, they shrug it off like it never was important anyway. I've been there before, but I don't blow up. That place is very volatile. It doesn't help that there seems to be an endless reserve of cheerleaders egging on any tension or potential tension.
On the fora, there is a frighteningly giant disconnect between posters' pictures and their criticisms (of others). If everyone was on the same page, as in knew how the naysayers/assholes actually dressed, people wouldn't get so worked up about the flack they receive on the boards.

With most of the pictures posted, including the famous divot or divNot suit, the resolution (or my eyesight) is so bad I can't tell if people have the suits on back the front or not - let alone identify any minor details that would change as soon as the perp moved an inch or two.
I'm about a dozen pages into the Grand Divot Controversy thread, and two things strike me:
- If Foo wishes to use the word "divot" several thousand times he should learn that its orthography requires an O, not an E.
- Practically everything Foo writes gives me a terrible headache. My brain chooses to reproduce his prose in the shrill voice of a spittle-emitting College Republican debater gesturing frantically at a large clear plastic box of "evidence" printed from Wikipedia.
Also, it turned out that Lefty aimed low in this astounding piece of thread prognostication:

"Or is this one of those threads where your spend 50 pages arguing your point into the ground?"
