Sale, OCBD "Popovers"

Someone was recently looking for short sleeve OCBD with the truncated placket, usually referred to as popovers.

Whoever it was said that they could get Dave Mercer to make them for @$89.

If you are interested, the sale flyer came from Cable Car today. They are usually $89,now on sale for $71. SML sizes, and a wide selection of colors.

Re: Sale, OCBD "Popovers"

I've been following the popover/pullover conversations with interest around the net.
I've a feeling the attraction is mainly because the style is archaic.
There seems something of the 'Fedora Lounge' about the conversations - an interest in recreating/celebrating the past. Dressing in what is perceived as an 'historical' way.

Do others feel this too?
The mood of Trad now seems to be beyond a celebration of tradition but to be more about recreating and re-enacting it.
Still a perfectly fine & dandy thing to do, but just a new shift in 'what it's all about'.
Interesting!

Yes, that makes sense. Draw inspiration from the past.
I could be wrong about the current 'mood' of Trad... First it was detachable collars on the Club Collar thread, then pocket watches, & now there's the interest in the pull-over shirt. It all started to seem a little more backward-looking than usual to me. Fedora-Lounge-esq...
Bring back spats!

I just realized I veered somewhat off topic here, so Sorry.

Matt, I like the popovers, it's too bad they don't stick with long-sleeves.
But I suspect that might confuse many people, who have been brainwashed with more standard shirt types.
