Two things on those shoes:
1. That ain't no cordovan.
2. And that ain't #8.
Of course, the camera may have colour blindness on the #8 issue.
Thanks, Tony! Yes, they are mine. Since I'm a bit crazy about collecting shoes, I probably only wear each pair maybe 10-20 times per year.
That + I've got my shoe creams & buffing wheel in my office, so I polish them (not the shells, of course) just about every time i wear them to work.
With shell, I've seen them get better with age, so I guess I need to wear these out more.

I think he's talking about the first pair, not the 2nd one.
No, I meant the second pair as well. Maybe its the screen on this laptop, they don't look like shell or #8 colour scheme from here. Of course, I am three large whiskies ahead of you fine chaps.
Seriously, the colour scheme of those shoes are brown on my screen.
Also the leather looks too thin to be cordovan.
I could be wrong, I'm only stating what it looks like from here.
Interesting observation Isshinryu, is it the cordovan leather or burgundy that the screen is colour blind too? Perhaps Shooey knows.
Currently drinking a Glengoyne 10 year old, un-chillfiltered and way too good and strong for a school night. Oh well, I will learn.
Well, it is G- who has enlightened us. At least that Alden #8 is a deeper burgundy than Allen Edwards.

^Thank you gentlemen, I thought I had become colour blind. I will sleep more easy now, safe in the knowledge, I am still fit to change fuses on electrical appliances.
l found out the reason why the shops aren't selling the big fat Santoni norvegese models in Oz anymore, no-one likes `em. l tried to talk the buyer into getting some pair for next year. l'm really hoping he'll come through and get some pairs.
^ awesome dude! I am starting to like the stitching, although I would never get it for myself. Must be some real skill involved in that.
