Re: Polo Shirts

I spend less on polo shirts than I do on Brooks Brothers boxer shorts.

$10/pop at Target.  Standard colors, standard construction, no silly labels. Look just like the ones they sell at Polo.

I have one or two older Izod-Lacostes. I wouldn't pay what they charge now just for the croc...and a bespoke polo shirt....I have no words for that one. Stunned that anyone would make the effort...stunned that anyone would be willing to pay $800 for a shirt I use to go to the ballpark, play squash, spill ice cream....

Re: Polo Shirts

I am an  idiota, not a tailor, so can someone explain this?

Presumably the reason for disassembly is to take away material, discard it and re-sew the seams.
Why then would one have to take the time described to undo each original stitch rather than just
cut along the original seam with a scissors?

I would ask this on the originating forum, but I don't need a smart "alecky" answer

Regards.

Re: Polo Shirts

Who makes pique cloth?  The people at Grass Court who might offer one of the best USA-made RTW lacoste-style polo shirts out there offer theirs in either English or Peruvian cloth.

Re: Polo Shirts

Bespoke polo shirts? I've been laughing all weekend over this one, and hope to continue into Monday morning.  Some people are WAY too serious about clothes.  Sounds like the people on this forum have a lot more sense (and manners).

Re: Polo Shirts

Has anyone seen the new Paul Stuart pique shirt?  They sent an e-mail about it not too long ago.  How is it?  Where's it made?
