peaky - I've got 30 of my family coming over tomorrow for xmas lunch bbq, so I'm running around like a headless chook getting food ready. And the rest.
Now normally one would expect in the great brown sunburnt land that the 19th of December would be decidedly hot. And dry. In fact for the last 5 years we've had a drought, no watering gardens, no washing cars, heartbreaking, dry as a pommie's towel, dry as a nun's nasty, as we say. Normally it could be expected to be anywhere from 28C to 35C. And dry. And low humidity. Thats why I have a pergola and grape vines growing over it. Making a very large outdoor room that shields us from the sun and provides a horticultural architectural structural and cultural space.
But no. What do we get this year- max 18C tomorrow and wind and rain and storms.
So I'm relaxing at the intertubes with a Little Creatures, surely Australia's best beer, and taking a break. I heated up some cashews in olive oil, garlic, chilli, coriander, sesame oil and garlic and having snack.
Your suggestion reminded me why we are having a Kris Kringle tomorrow - its rational and sensible.
So I suggest a Kris Kringle here. Its just too bloody hard and complicated to give a snark to everyone.
How about we all have a small or large snark, send them all to gilga, or FNB, and they then randomly distribute the snarks to all the usual suspects here. That way we all only have to do one snark and we all get a snark back.
Alternatively- and this is what we do in my family now, we distribute the names randomly* so that each person only buys for one other person, but you know who, or is it whom, you buy for.
That way we could tailor the snark. As a special effort there could I suppose be bespoke snarks - that is people could "commission"a snark for a particular poster - that way you would get the snark that really fits you. (of course, it might not be delivered until easter and may have divots and a bit of pull around the waist but hell it will be worth it)
* Its not actually random. I discovered that Ms fxh has managed to dominate the list / matching project and I know it to be corrupted. She never give herself anyone difficult to buy for.

Gosh, fellas, I've been away for a brief spell, and I return to find that you've all kicked the snark into hyperdrive, or whatever the relevant sci-fi analogy may be. I'm now out of my depth, which isn't too surprising for an 18th century moralist and political incompetent. Things change, I suppose.

Costi - "After you have carefully selected all elements of your dress and combined them according to rules, customs and erudite principles of composition, step back from the mirror as far as you can: do you see unity, a general effect, a conclusion? Does your dress sing to you?"

I wouldn't suggest saying this to ManTani, but this is the kind of thing I'm hoping will happen at my party:

lf l was bored l wouldn't be guessing what brand shoos are (one of the most boring things ever), that would even make me more bored. What a stinker of a topic...l bet he's all boozed up.
l bet you plenty of blokes get boozed up and then post their pics on the internet.
