The hunts were all wild, of course. None of this ranch/preserve shit. However, I'm told that most of the pheasant (and other wild game/fowl) hunts of the 1950's were contained to a series of vast, vacant fields in an unincorporated section of Albion, NY. At times, (in the 1940s -50s) there may have been moments without a proper license. All that has been rectified, of course.
