Good point about the "business" of sport. Impossible to reverse.
The "business" mindset is penetrating every aspect of contemporary life and society.
Astaire possibly introduced it to Americans, though.

Interestingly my 18 yr old son recently bought a "tie belt" and often uses rope rather than a leather belt - a habit he got from skate boarding. Watching a recent Poirot , you see Cap'n Hastings use a tie as a belt while playing tennis in Devon.
