I have no problem with black at all. Here in Melbourne black is big. Black on black. I think as people age they need to be careful with black as it can drain colour and make faces look harsh.
I'm constantly amazed at how people confuse colours and such - there are a lot of people who would confuse any dark jacket and ANY dark pants as a suit.

Now these guys are getting down to business: In what position do you polish your shoes? Over there, don't be surprised to see it's bending over:

Father Ted always looked good in a black suit. It went well with his grey hair. He used to buy special really black socks from a priest's shop.

With black, especially suits, it depends on the cloth
First it was the "suit blazer"; then the "one shoe" made its debut. That was followed by the "one trouser". Now the "one jacket" seems to be all the rage:

I've been wondering about the psychological motivations and ramifications of the iGent's "one xx" approach... could be interesting to flesh them out. Any volunteers? (I can accept "I would not touch that with a 10' long pole" as an answer.)

I keep seeing references to the Marinella shop in Naples being overflowed with customers and that they have some sort of bouncer at the door to control the masses. What's up with all these tourists going to Marinella? Would they know that it is widely rumored in Italy that Marinella's business is connected to the Mafia? I guess not...

Imagine if every one of them showed up to a tailor's trunk show, it would take years for them to flip through every single swatch book and then order nothing.
