Re: Tatts - Naff or Not

Yeah well theres tatts and tatts.

I think you should write a book with illustrations in the History of Tatts, and How, Where and When to wear them in Polite Society .

My offspring have them neither of them visible unless they go shirtless and I must say a fairly tasteful artistic designed  inkings. The rock and roll artist film maker boy has a huge very well done dragon fish over his left shoulder back and front and coming halfway down to his elbow. Clear lines, intricate lines and spaces, looks good.

Re: Tatts - Naff or Not

l never minded tatts once...when people with attitude only wore them. These days tatts are mainly worn by nerds who wanna fit in by trying to look cool. So many goons are doing it now that it has become a major trend. These nerds aren't fooling anyone, l can see through their armour...and what a pissy little front it is. You say `boo' to these nerds and most of `em would piss in their pants.

On the right type of girl, tatts are hot.

Blood group under the left arm is as far as I'd go (and that might be too far for some).

Re: Tatts - Naff or Not

I got tattooed about 40 years ago, when it was considered daring, offbeat and naughty for a man of education and refinement to do so. I was also inspired by the fact that in the era when aristocracy was at its height, most of the crowned heads of Europe were tattooed--I think of Edward VII, George V and Kaiser Bill. These days, tattooing has become so "common" (in every sense of the word) that I wouldn't think of having it done. Curiously, although the practice now enjoys a plebeian ubiquity comparable to blue jeans, it has become vastly more expensive (even adjusting for inflation) than when I had it done.

Utterly revolting, whether sported by the aristocracy or commoners. I would consider Made in Wigan on my neck, or I Love Suet Pudding on my arm though.

Re: Tatts - Naff or Not

My personal tastes change too frequently to get a tat.  Something I like today, I would probably despise in a decade.

A woman I know got a tattoo on her breast 10 years ago.  It was a tattoo of a rose bud.  Now, with age, it is a tattoo of an entire rose bush.

I'm trying to remember the tattoo joke behind the punchline " Welcome to Sunny Jamaica - Have a nice day"

Naff - all of them!

Contrary to lies of FNB and Woofboxer, I (and most of the other "Buff Bastards") have been banned from posting on this forum. There are only a few posters left so don't waste your time on here. This forum is dead and nobody cares.

Re: Tatts - Naff or Not

Theres a lot been written on the similarity between the proles and the Upper Crust. And its not just about rough trade.

A general dislike of the bourgeoise unites them.

Wedgy Benn is still going strong is he not? Not sure that he yearns to be working class and I bet that he lives in a smart part of London and that the family fortune is intact. It's just the viscountcy that he put on 'hold'.
