A fly front covers the buttons.
A french front is folded under.
A top center placket or box fronthas a small lip. Most traditional english and american shirts have a center placket.
A top center placket is sometimes made with two pieces to improve the matching of stripes.

Carl, you must be in the shirt business I did confuse the French and fly fronts. I'll follow up on your questions.

Marc,
What is Siviglia's background? I might have to stop by when next in Rome.

Thanks for the link, Cruz Diez. I just realised that I must have passed the shop at least 3 times in the past 2 years. Probably isn't much "to look at" from the outside. How I like such unassuming shops!
Mr. Grayson,
I hope you won't find the question rude but do you have any pictures of the shirts on you? It is so hard to tell much from a picture on the hanger. Of course you may want to black out your face for privacy, I am merely interested in the fit of these shirts and perhaps a description of what you asked him for.
What do you think of the Riva cloth? I've been having mine made with the SIC-Tess 200's of late and love the feel of them but I hear that Riva does a 260's? or so that is like gossamer.
Pardon me if I am being nosy. Too many years in the business of asking nosy questions i'm afraid.
Good day, sir!
Jim
Thank you, Marc
I've wondered about the cloth beyond a 200's and assumed it would be very pretty but not especially durable. I've a few of the 200's shirts and while I love the hand I suppose I've worn more 'ordinary' cloth for too long to become accustomed to them.
I suppose I do see your point about taking the photo while wearing the shirt. Let us know when the neighbor comes by. Over time I've become more interested in fit than fabric as I seem to have morphed a bit with time and gravity and my shape makes for a harder fit in recent years.
How do you display another's message in that way? Forgive me for being a dolt but I've only recently resolved to understand this blasted appliance my son purchased for me for 'surfing'. I must have gotten something right as did a 'google' on Domenico Spano and found this site.
A most enjoyable read, I was unaware that such discussions were available on the computer.
Thank you, sirs, for the welcome.

Mr. Siviglia and family are going to be in the NY area in August for a social event and I'm hoping he can spend some time in NY seeing customers.
