Sartorial pubs

Where do you drink when visiting your tailor, shirtmaker or shoemaker?

My favourites are

The Red Lion in Duke of York Street, off Jermyn Street
The Audley on the corner of South Audley Street and Mount Street
The Burlington Arms in Old Burlington Street, behind Savile Row
The Windmill in Mill Street, just over Conduit Street from Savile Row

I am not a fan of Mulligan's in Old Burlington Street as there is no draught real.

Re: Sartorial pubs

The Red Lion used to be our local and is a great pub, although it can get very busy. The Only Running Footman just off Berkeley Square is a very nice pub and can be surprisingly quiet. The Golden Lion in King Street is also a pleasant pub:

The Balls Brothers' winebar on the corner of St James's Street and Ryder Street can have some buzz.

Re: Sartorial pubs

I just go to the shops myself. I don't have a shirtmaker, shoemaker, tailor etc.

The Youngs pub in Bruton Street - The Guinea - is good for the area. http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/48/4891/Guinea/Mayfair

Also the Red Lion down near Locks hatters.

Best one near John Simons now is The Golden Eagle. Used to have a piano last time I was in.

Re: Sartorial pubs

I have gone off Young's beer since the Wandsworth brewery was closed and production was moved to Milton Keynes. The beer has lost its taste and my local pubs are chasing the youth market.

Re: Sartorial pubs

Sambrooks Wandle is a fine alternative. Brewed in Wandsworth and often available in Youngs pubs.

Re: Sartorial pubs

Another vote for the Red Lion. I've enjoyed a few beers in The Golden Eagle, must pop by some time soon.

Re: Sartorial pubs

There are two Red Lions in St James's - Duke of York Street and Crown Passage, the latter being near Lock's.

Re: Sartorial pubs

In St. James's and Mayfair, for me, there is a dearth of quality pubs. Can't seem to find a Sam Smith's either, does anyone else like their Nut Brown Ale from the bottle?

Re: Sartorial pubs

The Barley Mow is the JS pub.

... Although I do most of my drinking in the basement of the shop...
