Trying to adapt to Earl Grey after running out of Lapsang souchong
Yesterday, started off with a large Ballantine's 12 year old as an apertif with plenty of ice and then moved onto a 2005 bottle of Torres's Gran Sangre de Toro a decent enough tipple with a pizza. Then got lashed into a bottle Lidl's finest 2009 Bordeaux, not bad and certainly a quality wine for the cheap price. It all gets a bit hazy after that.....
Lustau Solera Reserva Ecuadrilla Amontillado
Lidl Bourbon(Jim Beam) with added colouring!. Plus a cup of tea to go with it.
Had Redbreast pot still Irish earlier.
Watching FA Cup highlights on ITV. Crock of shite. Adverts every few minutes now !
still earl grey
Due to a morbid and oppressive ambience that befalls me after a couple of wee drams have cut out the whisky of late and returned to wine. Yesterday evening enjoyed a bottle of late harvested 2009 vintage trocken Silvaner from the German Bretz vineyard. A great white wine for a reasonable price of 7.95Euros.
Was in Austria for most part of last week and in one town, made the mistake of ordering a bottle of the local styriaan style wine. Strawberry coloured anti-freeze springs to mind.
Das war nicht gut... dieses styrisches Wein du musst Australischer wein trinken....

Alfa Crux 2005. Much touted and Parker loves it. Wonderful smell and huge in the mouth but it doesn't really do subtle. Once in a while it's fine.
Rochefort 8.
Cup of Tesco red label tea and a Jameson.
