I thought of a follow-up experiment - perhaps the boys from Duke could shove a few iGents into a CAT scan machine and then see if there's a difference in their neurological response to Allen Edmonds firsts and seconds. Or they could isolate a genetic factor that causes an extreme reaction to divots ("divets"). Or perhaps the steely precision of science could flay away the gross flesh of error and reveal the essential truth of why so many iGents are weirdly deformed?

And finally Cuffers attempts to propose a Unified Theory of the Igentry. He divides his illustrious peers into two camps: pro-detail and anti-detail (which we lay people might rephrase as "ugly" versus "boring"). In Cuffers formulation each person falls somewhere on an IGent Feelings Rainbow that stretches from spectators to whole-cuts.

We here at FNB often deride Cuffers for his obnoxious, combative personality and for his fear that strange men will fall upon him in a dark Atlanta alley and stuff inappropriate objects into his game pouch. We've briefly discussed his overall influence on Axe Andy before, but I think it's time to come around again. The wide influence of Cuffer's rules-based approach to style is one of the main things wrong with Ask Andy. Do any of you old timers remember his origin story?
