I've got a question some of you may be able to help me with. Fritzl, I'm SURE you know about this.
Well, I've got "Budapester" on the brain. I recently started looking into purchasing a pair (or 3) of genuine ones. Obviously, Vass is my ultimate goal, but the ones I want (DAMN YOU, SHOOMAN & those wonderful, incredible goyser shell cord wingtips!!!!) are simply out of my budget for now (having kids does that to a guy). Besides, most of my fun is derived by searching out & finding the perfect pair of shoes at the perfect price as well.
I also yearn for a pair or 2 of Dinkelackers & MAY have found a pair I want to buy. BUT, besides that, who are the other (or at least some of the other) genuine Budapester makers out there? There are a LOT of total FOR SH*T makers out there (like those Lloyd's 1881's) that use terrible leather & turn out a terrible product, and I need some info to continue my search.

Does anyone know where you can buy Budapesters (Vass, Dinckelacher etc) in the UK?
John Rushton stocks a version made by Alfred Sargent but I would prefer a thicker sole and the Hungarian stitching.

As far as stores to actually visit & try the shoes on in person, I have no idea. In the US, we have NONE for either brand. As far as for on-line, this German site has a great reputation:

I've been told that Eiko Trausch is excellent & very knowledgable about sizing, etc.

Seems the Black fleece longwings go for $650 for the shell & $550 for the pebble grain
That compares to $575 for the Alden shell they sell under the regular BB label.
& $395 for the Florsheim/ Duckie Brown longwing.
SOOOOO, 3 pairs of similar looking longwings
Disgarding the Duckies (which are made in India or China),
seems a little redundant to sell 2 extremely similar shoes for comparable prices.
BB is going "gunboat crazy" as well!!! It must be catching.
