They look nice. How's the fit? Did you go to their shop or did you self-measure?
l prefer shiney leather than suede. Suede is too hard to keep looking good.
I have a few pairs from Kielman - my wife introduced me to them. In fact she is bringing my latest order back home to me when she flys back from a trip to Warsaw this evening. I think as a firm they are excellent. The Central European style they carry as standard is very "Austro Hungarian" Belle Epoque type stuff and maybe not to the taste of my US and Australian friends, but they do do a very sleek beautiful bespoke shoe a la Lobb - you just have to ask...
There shop is also a treasure trove of great information - Jan Kielman the owner is a perfect gentleman and will always counsel (as opposed to try to hard sell) you the right pair of shoes, not just the most expensive pair...
I am also headed for Kielman in May, looking for a pair of dark brown Balmoral boots.
Hey, those are nice shoes, all three pairs!! The best Kielman's I have seen.
I kid you not that I wore such kid boots when I was a kid.
Gentlemen,
I've been reading this forum and enjoying the discussions thoroughly, although this is the first time I'm actually finding the courage to post.
I do have question for Cruz Diez regarding the self measuring process for Kielman...
This is a quote from the Kielman site as part of the self measuring process:
"Mark the arch defining profile dimensions of the foot with a pencil kept at the 45 degrees angle from the inside the foot, between the heel and the big toe,"
Having been through the self measuring process, I was hoping you could tell me what this exactly means. I believe I understand all the other instructions.
Thanks,
-a

Suede ankle boots are available in a range of shapes and sizes. Plenty of Ankle Boot brands have several designs that not only offer shoes that are comfortable, but also stylish and sleek. You can create your own fashion statement using these boots. The Suede ankle boots can be simple or they can be stylish and elegant. Whatever they are, they are engineered to offer you comfort and safety as far as your feet are concerned. They can be worn over anything: casuals; formals; and party wear. Some of the designs allow you to go hiking, camping, and mountaineering. In short, you can find any type of suede ankle boots to suit your needs. The best thing is that you need not compensate on anything when you buy the boots.

What I love about these old threads is how similar they are in lots and lots of ways, including the way language is used, to stuff that appears now on Ask Andy. School-boyish almost.
