This is fun and interesting.
It is worthwhile to figure out the psychology of message boards.

The internet is a weird place, as I discover every day.
Remember: we are only the "one percenters"!

Re: "Wasperanto and The Trad...

Conscious that I didn't make a very good job of the above. It was one of those 'after lunch' posts...

Viewed in a certain way it maybe could offer a way forward -

The 'Trad' subsection of the Ivy League style can be enjoyed as an exercise in style or as a gentleman's game on the MBs, full of insider jokes in its early days. That gives it validity as being something quite good of its kind. What followed was then the newcomers to the style buying into the fun a little too literally.

It's a POV that gives everyone a little dignity. The early Trad gang can enjoy their 'insider' status in talking about this style and distance themselves a little from a lot of what followed which wasn't of their making. The new Trads can say 'Yes, I got it all along. I was only being tongue-in-cheek when I was agonizing over cell phones'. Nobody looks a jackass.

I wonder if that helps?

Re: "Wasperanto and The Trad...

In my experience...
Even when you give someone a way out, they won't take it.

Stupidity and stupid pride get in the way.
Or just ignorance of how to use ideas on a daily basis, in real life, to enhance life.
People seem ready to "stick to their guns" far too much.
It's a fetish in America, but it's also suicide.

I don't know.

"Wasperanto"

Wasperanto, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
Oh, you're a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow.....

Re: "Wasperanto and The Trad...

You folks ought to feel blessed to be on the information super hwy and know all this stuff.  My young wife seems to know all this usless information as well and I am a mushroom kept in the dark and fed bullshit.

What exactly is Trad now so I can decide if a healthy dose of it would be as beneficial as a good heaping help of bran or just a akin to verbal diareah as what prunes can do for the soul ?

Maybe I am the father of trad and just do not know it yet.  Stranger things have happened.  Sorry to be in left field here when the main stream seems to the right.

Re: "Wasperanto and The Trad...

All 'Trad' is is a new name for that old Brooks Brothers look (put simply).
Nothing more to the clothes than that really.
Button-down shirts, soft shoulder tailoring, etc. Once commonplace, now not so popular.
Stuff most Americans had in the closet at one time.

Nothing controversial about it.
