Re: You Know You're An iGent When...

When you are too cheap to support local business and value online discounts instead (short term thinking). lt's cheap prices over service, and to hell with developing good relationships with local people.

When you talk about things online that usually don't matter.

When you think you know nearly everything about clothing, while in reality you know f*** all (false GODS, see my signiture...even Sator is onto them now).

When you buy with your eyes instead of your brain (not much substance in their decision making). Eg, buying expensive John Lobb and Edward Green rtw because they look sooo nice and because the forums think they are all that.

When you think you are all that.

Re: You Know You're An iGent When...

When tailors suddenly become more expensive than other people online claim. (lt's a hint, the tailor wants you to piss off because you are an annoying twat who is wasting his time. He knows the igent is just shopping around and very unlikely to become a customer).

When you ring a `forum approved' tailor and ask for his prices.

When you want a spalla camicia because you think that makes you a man of good taste.

When you want a spalla camicia so you can be like lammatt (immit) and have some Naples pedigree. wink

When you have no ability to co-ordinate a pocketsquare with an outfit. Not many get it right (it's more a distraction to the overall look...when it's right the outfit will flow nicely).  Why do folks mess it up so badly?...probably because they have no clue how to dress well and probably because most of them are colour blind, and probably because most of them copy peoples looks from S.F without considering whether it works for them or not (so bleedin' funny to see).

When you are so narrow minded that you snub any posters who prefer more fashionable items. They do this because `they think they know better' and such stuff is below them. LOFL.

What's the definition of being dumb? knowing bugger all, but thinking you know what you are talking about (see point directly above).

S.F is full of dumb people, that's why most people of worth (knowledgable people) never post there, and the worthwhile people who do post there move on quickly.....think about it. Not many industry people have the patience for these clowns because they are in a world of there own.

Re: You Know You're An iGent When...

^ I wouldn't bother about S.F if I were you, as it's already tipped over the event horizon. Witness, Mafoofan's desperate attempt to inject some clothing discourse into the place with his current '1Shoe' thread. To little to late, I'm afraid.

It takes all sorts to make a good forum and when you start to ban experienced, albeit, controversial posters at the behest of a coterie of small minded, egocentric fellow posters the writing is on the wall.

When you adopt a false Italian-sounding name to publish a book on tailoring.

Contrary to lies of FNB and Woofboxer, I (and most of the other "Buff Bastards") have been banned from posting on this forum. There are only a few posters left so don't waste your time on here. This forum is dead and nobody cares.

You wonder if disowning your son is a  bit harsh as a consequence of his observation that the pattern on your shirt sleeve placket is mismatched by 1/32 of an inch.

You dump your girlfriend because she tenderly says she loves you for you and not for your sense of style.
