I'm new here and I have a couple of questions

Who are you guys and what in the hell are you talking about?  I have been laughing for two weeks now, but I am not sure at what?  I feel I have stumbled into another world.  Strange, but humorous.  In other words it is my kind of place.

Thanks.  I will try my hand after a more thorough investigation.

Hey Mike, I think you will like the way FNB runs the store. He doesn't put up with any foolishness, but the group seems to work fairly well by understanding the nature of good manners, and civility and not needing a lot of adult supervision.

Somehow the specter of having a sociopathic bully  monitoring each post seems to stifle creativity. We seem to do O.K. here without that influence.

Also, no encyclopedias for sale here. Definitely a plus!

Well mannered and civil rabble-rousers. I love it!  I may not understand everything I am reading, but I recognize the textualizing of non-verbal ribald communication when I see it. I have become a huge fan and I am sure to join in once I figure out the secret code. Exactly whom are we poking fun of and why?

I am not sure what you are referring to by “sociopathic bully monitoring”, but you are a creative lot. You put me in mind of The Idler and its forum.  I suspect this is a similar bunch.

Friend of my sent me this link. I love vintage films, I wear vintage styles... and it's called "Film Noir." What more can I want? (Besides a nice scotch while watching Turner Classic Movies?)

I see, or I think I do.  It is not the clothing aficionado whom you target, but the ill-informed, swaggering, and self-aggrandizing style expert.  How do the quotations appear here? Maybe I will just send for that ring.

Re: I'm new here and I have a couple of questions

Mike, you really don't even need to wait for the ring. Just click on to one of the other forums that claim to deal with men's style issues.

Scroll down to see if they have one or more threads where members are posting what they have on today. It is very important to find one where members are posting about what clothes they have on, and yet a separate thread on what shoes they are wearing. Read the posts carefully to be sure that they think that anyone really cares what they are wearing. This is vital!

Finally, see if you can find one where the members are posting large pictures of themselves in their "new outfits", as in "What do you guys think of this new ensemble that just arrived today?" "The picture is a little blurry, but my wife was breast feeding the baby, when she took these pictures. At least you get a good view, in the background, of my palatial estate, and expensive cars." (It has to be clear that his question is strictly rhetorical. He really doesn't care what you think about his new ensemble.)

When you find the threads outlined above, BINGO! You have discovered a gathering place for neurotically self absorbed people that furnish an unlimited supply of material for side splitting yuks.

As with any group of disfunctional people, there must be several in charge to see that the inmates don't harm themselves. In any maximum security situation, you have the need for one sociopathic bully to be in charge of inmate behavior, and several helpers.

This isn't hard stuff Mike, when you have willing people generating reams of new material each day.
