Very enjoyable report, thanks for sharing. For someone who eschews photos, you did great, especially the last two, which looked like they were professionally done.  Especially enjoyed the MS experience. You're in for a treat when the shirts are completed.  Nice touch that they drove you back and introduced you to the restaurant owner.  Otherwise, they might have invited you to their home for dinner.

I don't want you to break the bank, but if you have some extra change, ask Sig. Siviglia to make you a pair of his jeans.  They are almost too beautiful to be called jeans.

I enjoyed reading this.

The penultimate picture is incredible, Is that one of the churches in the Jewish district? Looks familiar. Let me guess... the last picture you took in Piazza della Repubblica?

As for dining, did you go to Er Buchetto? Or maybe Da Vincenzo? Great food. After you go for your next fitting, try the antipasto di mare in the restarurant just across the street from the atelier. It is incredible.

Put simply, there's nothing like Rome.

Great photoessay, sloaney, thanks for taking the time to write up your experiences! Rome certainly is beautiful.

I must say though that the "Byron" store with its sale signage looks a little tacky - but it sounds like you're in good hands with the Siviglias, so who cares? smile

Wonderful post. How will you arrange for a fitting for the shirts? What collars and cuffs did you decide on? I assume we will get to see photos when they are complete? And I would hate to be rude but how much?

There's beautiful. There's ridiculous. Then, there's the ridiculously beautiful(in an awesome way). That, to me, is Rome.

Take care, gents.
God bless.
