Hi all,
I'm a long time looker, first time poster! Can anyone recommend tailors in Naples, I'm looking to get a bespoke or made to measure suit made with soft shoulders but not with the gathering on the top of the sleeve. Sadly my champagne taste isn't matched by my lemonade income so cost will be a factor, I will be able to access quality fabrics at good prices soon so I'm really looking for a tailor that will work with fabric I provide when I travel close by for my hols in June.
'Foobinacci.
Gianni Marigliano,
Gennaro Solito
Domenico Pirozzi
Antonio Panico
Are between the best, and less expansive that Rubinacci.
The cut is different: Rubinacci is not the only bespoke school in Naples.
Thanks for the replies guys, I'll google some names and see if its affordable for my shallow pockets.
Hi Meister, I have some jackets by Partenopea that have the arm sewn under the shoulder that have no gathering, its this soft shape that I'm hoping I can get at a reasonable price. Not really a fan of the gathering, just the shape.
Let it be known... Although the tailors mentioned are based in Naples, they do NOT cut jackets following the true Neapolitan school of tailoring. For better of for worse
Googled a few and theres only a couple with websites in English, which is a drawback for me. Can't find any info for some of them. It did look to my untrained eye like there were other shoulders on offer from some of the tailors. Looked at Caraceni but they seem to be in Milan, not Rome as well. I'll send them an email, Rome would be great for me to get to. There isn't a single Bespoke tailor in my country, though there is a high end shop that stocks Kiton and such that offers a bespoke service made in Italy with the soft shoulder. I'm not sure if thats the way to go? Don't like the idea of not dealing with the "man" face to face and don't really want to be paying for airmiles, though I guess I would be anyway travelling to Naples.
Has anyone ever used a service like this or got any thoughts?
No,im Italian and in Italy we have still many tailors.
The prices of less known are still reasonables.
In any case Kiton is fine ;cost like a a first class bespoke, but is fine.
Attolini is better.
The suits aren't made by Kiton Carpu65. I can't remember the name of the tailor he uses, infact I don't think he mentioned his name but the suits looked nice they start at 25 000 kr which is a little over 3000euro, I'd really like to pay less than that. I'm having a bespoke suit made in England at the moment for 1 800euro which is pretty much top dollar for me. How do these prices compere please?
3000 euros are the cost of a finest bespoke in Italy.
Not at Rubinacci, off course, because internet have become he fashionable beyond the old inner circle of "cognoscenti".
But in Italy with 3000 euros you can have a fine bespoke suit.
Now peoples are fixated with Naples.
Well,Naples have great tailors and his strength is that have many tailors also today.
But in Italy we have great tailors in every city: in 50s,60s and 70s "Bespokeolis" was Rome, in 80s and 90s Milan.
In I-Gents age is Naples.

Look to Domenico Pirozzi'suit above.
Is Neapolitan 100%, but is not Rubinacci school.
Gigi Marzullo wear made on measure suits by Eddy Monetti,a Neapolitan firm, but set in Rome.
Are what i call "Neapolitan zoot suit";
exaggerates characteristic of Rubinacci school, like the zoot suit exaggerated
the Scholte drape.
