l think l might *gasp* even start topying my Florsheim v cleat gunboats. l don't want to do it, but who can l trust to resole them properly? l certainly wouldn't trust modern day Florsheim to recraft them at their factory.  l am also NOT going to risk any hacks buggering up my v cleats, no way! + l can't risk sending shoes overseas for a recraft...they may never return, lost forever.

Naturally l never topy my R.M.Williams because they are locally made.

Make sure you bevel the edges makes them look better. You could do it yourself with a sharp knife - if you don't mind cutting off a thumb.

With old Topy that has got a bit smooth - takes years - I just criss cross cut them aand rough them up a bit with a stanley knife to stop slipping over.

Re: Inane Post of the Day 3 Now With Double Inanity Blocking Powerrrrr!

Begin the countdown for Shoey posting a picture of a screaming Chimpanzee!

I'm no phrenologist, but off the top of my head:
- Murderer's jowls
- Horse thief's chin-dimple
- Usurer's earlobes
- Mountebank's cheekbones
- Mudlark's temples

(I actually think ol' Mike looks totally OK here - something's a little funny with the jacket's right shoulder, though)

Andyland inanity:
http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?111549-What-to-buy-with-my-tax-return
Hockeydude123 (not to be confused with NYCBreukelyneeHockeyFather6, who seems to have stopped posting) got his $700 tax return and wants to blow it since it's not in his budget. Why, that would cover a fine jacketing from Bookster! For reasons that I cannot explain the debate turns briefly to Al Quaida, and then Andyland suggests:

- The Great Allen Edmonds Shoe Manufactory Custom Shoe Footing Program Strawfut in shell cordovan (seriously!)
- A Stowa watch
- An antique pocketwatch

Ordering a Strawfut (a notably ugly ventilated summer shoe for those not keeping score) in shell cordo suggests an entire genre of nihilist anti-clothing, like tropical linen winter parkas, delicate cashmere raincoats, shell cordo pocket squares, etc.

I think Jwa Jwa Jwa may have fallen in love with me, and is now posting solely for my amusement.

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?110210-My-new-custom-Bally-s-Came-in!
Thurnau orders some custom Bally loafers in a magical color that looks like black but actually derives from a careful harmony between nine different dyes. I assume the dye colors are anthracite, fuligin, soot, midnight, noir de noir, ink, galactic void, jet, onyx, and off-black, and that they all come from the same enormous barrel deep within Bally's subterranean Swiss laboratory.

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?111544-Finding-comfortable-elegant-and-long-lasting-swimming-trunks-in-the-UK
Fashion photographer, who is definitely not someone's bizarre sock-puppet fantasy, finds himself unable to cope with his soggy trunks after emerging from the limpid surf in the south of Italy. Perhaps monsieur would consider changing monsieur's clothes? Or if this is impossible, perhaps monsieur might employ a quaint device called a "beach towel?" I assure monsieur that they are readily available almost anywhere. Of course the first response suggests Villebrequin swim trunks, The Swim Trunks that Cost As Much as Real Clothing.

Man I just don't get this pants wearing out business at the thighs crutch or anywhere (anywear?) else. Unless these cats are dribbling urine on their pants every time they point percy at the porcelain and they are rotting. Or do they have massive lumps of lard that rub together as they walk?

I don't think I've ever worn out a pair of dress or casual city pants in my whole life. I've torn them, fallen down and ripped them, I've burnt holes in them and dripped battery acid on them, had lipstick and oil stains, a dog bite and door handles and rose thorn rip a pocket or two but I've never worn a hole in a pair.

I have worn holes(or startings there of) in the crotches of jeans and such. It takes a couple of years but it happens, and I have the physique of a broom. So... god knows why it happens, I sure do not.
