For last two days I read the pages of the Devil's Island.  Never had I laughed out loud so hard at other internet fora!

Glad to have you Che! In line with some of your frustrations, one thing came up today that was of interest.

Misterman (J Press) was banned over there some time ago. I'm not sure why. It did seem poor form when he called a customer a douchebag, when the customer questioned the large number ties of last season. Maybe that wasn't the reason.

At any rate, Old MC is now posting, and in his first post today, he says that he used to be Misterman. Makes no difference to me. Just seems passing strange. If you are banned, and then come back under a new user name, apparently all is forgiven.

On a more serious note regarding something the first poster mentioned...

I find that some of the racial stuff is pretty disgusting.  I always found Harris to be an unrepentent biggot and many of the posters in the SF current events section are no better.  I don't think that I have read the term Uncle Tom on a message board before.  Disgusting.

Perhaps the "internet clothing fora" phenomenon has run its course, and we are seeing the last flare of fanatical craziness before the end?

Maybe from here on, it's mediocrity and banality?
...and a slow withering decay into oblivion?

When future generations uncover remnants of the message board fora, they will no doubt be appalled at the regressive society that devolved into ruminating on such mindless topics...
