Sorry, yes, I meant Thompson.
Well in my case, I put it down to a scrambbled egg brain for breakfast hangover. It was all proceeding most grandly when I opened the second bottle of Alsace Sylvaner wine last night, why after this, I proceeded to finish the last dregs of a bottle of Aldi white that had been slowly fermenting into raw sulphates in the fridge for nigh on a week is now lost in a dull ache.
Which is yet another salutory lesson, that whisky is best.
Simon Murray, author of "Legionnaire" and all round good business man and adventurer gives his verdict on dear old Blighty:

Interesting reading, the Chinese credit rating of the USA:

aud$ 1= usa$ 1.1011
Very astute piece in the Irish Times:

1.00 AUD =1.05588 USD
One commentator said it could go to $1.80 - $2.00 in two years. Even the conservative commentators aren't scoffing at a peak of $1.50 in 18 months.
Just wait we'll all be over in USA strutting around in our double monks, australian wool suits, hand stitched shirts, exquisite dimpled ties, cashmere socks and undies, lighting cigars with usa$100 bills, with the good looking usa women hanging off our arms like iron filings on the exotic magnets that we australians are.
With a bit of luck one of us will buy up all remaining Made in USA, shoe, chino and shirt manufacturers and slap a Made in Stinky China label on everything an wave it in the face of any trad gent we see on the street panhandling.
