Brummell the concept is the thing: "he became his admirers" even before he died; having established a currency for a kind of high denomination, unobjectionable arrogance and superiority; more than offset and instantly forgiven by wit and real 'charm'.
It is interesting how some people attract the description "social climber" (pejorative) and some attract the description "social adventurer" or "buccanneer" (which isn't). There must be a reason for that too; just as there must be a reason why JFK could get away, scot-free, with his nocturnal adventures whereas Bill Clinton was subjected to the "Starr Chamber" and 'umbled for one single fumbling encounter in the Oval Office.
I imagine that Lucifer would be very well dressed, with no objectionable hint of retro or of fast-forward fashion - like one of the better Bond villains - the best dressed in the books was probably Scaramanga.
FNB, we are singing from the same hymn sheet on this. I especially like the last line.

Much to digest here.
I think context is very important. I certainly don't dress the same way at work as I do taking my 5 year-old boy to his flag-football or Girls Ball games games. I am the same person whether I am wearing tailored clothing or a track-suit. I guess the fact that I make the choice with some consideration for the setting says something.
All l know is that nearly all people don't feel comfortable with the truth and don't regularly tell the truth. l also know that people have manners that are appalling as can be witnessed by their driving habits and general social habits. l also see how people have out of control ego's as can be witnessed by how sensitive people are to criticism. Toxic environments create toxic humans, natural environments tend to bring out our better sides. l don't want to be around most people anymore, l prefer to be around real people...people who are humble and honest and know who they are and consequently have their ego's in check. l want to be around people who are happy and love themselves.....l don't see many people who love themselves for who they are, they all want to be something else. Sad.
We have strayed so far from our potential folks. We need to stop counting our dollars and stop continuously buying stuff (no point in that) and start helping people again and stop creating toxic environments. Good clothes or no good clothes, most people don't really give a damn about anyone but themself. So many people put time and effort into things that don't really matter, they distract their mind with frivolous things and don't think about the real issues.
l'll tell you something interesting. A healer spoke to 300 people on their death beds and 297 of them had regrets in life. The only 3 who had no regrets were the people who had helped make peoples lives better, not the ones who had all the material possessions. People (on their death bed) don't talk about how proud they are that they had the biggest house or the fattest bank balance, or the best clothes...they talk about wishing they did more to be a good person and help people. The truth only comes the day when we are born and the day we know we are going to die. The day most people know they are going to die is the day when they get their priorities in order. So sad. Think about the last paragraph guys....is that the truth or what!
