Re: What have you Brought today?

Raw food, particularly organic cucumbers is killing off and making a lot of people ill in Germany and other parts of Europe at present. For those poor souls, the promise of a raw food diet is spiritually very limiting, especially if you have to spend the rest of your short life getting kidney dialysis. A gastronomical mistake and gut flora dead end I am afraid.

Shooey, what's your take on drinking whisky? The distilling process, especially the early malting stages shares the sprouting part of the raw foodie diet. Are there raw fooders, who take the odd tipple, purely for medicinal purposes?

Five T M Lewin shirts for £100 from their store on Jermyn St - they have a passable selection of 15x36, a lot better than on the web. I got some more interesting patterns and colours for the summer, at £20 I can afford to experiment and move beyond the usual white or blue twill for office wear.

Re: What have you Brought today?

I wish more people were as happy and healthy as Shoey when pursuing such a lifestyle. I see far too many miserable people trying to eat their way into heaven, here on earth or otherwise.

By the way, everyone has a smell. Just like accents, we've all got one in relation to another. Probably goes without saying that a person who gives off only a faint scent of spring grasses likely won't bother as many people as someone smelling of old fry-vat grease, offal, and gin, but still. To be a mammal is to have a noticeable scent.

And bought today: 1 20lb sack of jasmine rice from Thailand, 1 new carbon steel wok (will have fun seasoning it tonight), and one umbrella from the handy stand in front of Macy's (raining today here.) All purchased at full retail in shops, none "thrifted." I feel like a true gentleman. wink

a black pair of Swims from Will's on-line store -- a much better experience than buying direct from Norway, I can tell you!

Re: What have you Brought today?

l sure did! l hardly slept all night...just had to snag `em! l was lucky too because l have been waiting for years to get something in my size. Usually everything is far too big for me (they only order larger sizes), but the small G&G was a one off. 7.5 U.K F width (extra wide for aussie feet). lt is a good fit, but it will require some break-in time to soften up. No shoe-trees unfortunately so l will have to order a pair next year.

l also tried the C&J monk today and it fits also. l didn't buy them yesterday because l wanted to spend a few hours making sure the fit was good and l didn't want you getting bored. Sometimes when l buy shoos it takes many hours.

Getting my big boy tonight + some more bespoke lasts. Mr X antiqued the shoo last night and just pulled it off the last about 2 hours ago. All he needs to do is glue the sock down and put in the laces. l see Mr X tonight and at least hope to get him to draw me another pattern before he leaves. l'm going to try and convince him to make another pair for me while he is overseas, but we'll see how it goes. At least we'll have a good chat tonight and i'll keep in touch with him.

l get John to start work on the big grand daddy shoo in early January.

Re: What have you Brought today?

Ah I thought you would sneak back. Good on ya, makes them realize we aren't all time wasters.

There's a bunch of ,youngish Asian guys on the Young Persons Clothes forum who are in Melbourne and I think would cream their {narrow} jeans over the Carminas in Melbourne. They are always whinging about no small sizes in Melbourne. I could ask a few and give the info to whatsisname at american tailors that there might be a bit of demand for small sizes in Melbourne.
