I like blazers--I have quite a few. Of late, I have become less of a fan of the gold button ones. I just think they look a little common. I think the DB Micahel Caine is wearing is very cool and would love to have one that fit exactly that way.
Recently I dicked around for two weeks on "pulling the trigger" on a muted red DB blazer - 6 up - metal buttons - Made for Henry Bucks - at my local op shop (Thrift Shop = USA = Charity shop=UK) and when I finally thought to myself - feck it - for $45 I'll take a punt - it was gorne. Bugger.
If you're still into wearing day cravats, the pairing might look a bit ahoy-hoy. Otherwise I own a double breasted in a slightly punchy shade of blue and it suits me fine for a lot of situations.
I would opt for a single breasted.
Been thinking about it and I sort of like wearing all blazers a bit like costume. With jeans/white shirt/Abstract tie or with a turtle neck sweater (cashmere), a printed shirt (perhaps in an abstract pattern), a madras shirt or even a tennis shirt. I could also picture wearing this sort of jacket unbuttoned.
