The second picture could cause convulsions among the shoe-challenged iGentry. Almost worth posting over yonder. The suggestions that would come regarding sand paper, vaseline, microwaving, suing various neighbors for too-dirty yards, the mystical talents of obscure cobblers in Picayune, Indiana, and probably endless offers of condolence and discrete foot massages might just be worth the trouble.
Oil based stains will be very hard to remove from leather.

Try repeatedly applying a polish darker than the original colour. You might give them a second wind.
