Nicotine actually protects against alzheimers, but the other risks are just not worth it.
Getting old and dying whether you like it or not, is a fact on this paranoid and cop ridden planet.
Few children born today will live to a 100, we have a few nasty inconveniet facts to deal with, such as, shock horror, the energy hydrocarbon crunch and overpopulation. People living to a 100 is not what this planet needs and we shouldn't be encouraging it, present company excepted.
You can forget diet, we need to be making the evolutionary jump into hyperspace, all the rest is a rear guard action being fought with wooden guns by Cpt. Mannering and Pike.
Until then, I will be sticking with booze and my trusty Brompton bicycle.

The number of dyspeptic old codgers ready to jump in their coffins is interesting. Is there a correlation between an interest in clothes and an insistence on checking out early, I wonder?
Sounds to me as if you guys need a bit of action to give you something to live for. Why not take a leaf out of Anthony Weiner's book and get snapping that package and move it around a bit?
I hear Kabbaz is preparing a special padded edition of his undies to help those out who need a bit of encouragement.
Come to think of it there's probably a website dedicated to just this that Russell trolled into being.
Big Tony is bound to have pics somewhere.

Eventhough l was previously raw for a bunch of years and went back to cooked food for 12 years, l always knew my time on cooked food was limited and that l would eventually go back to 100% raw. At every single cooked meal for 12 years l would tell myself briefly the following inside my head: “enjoy this cooked food while you can because you KNOW you will be going back to a raw diet by the start of middle age, and it will be for life". I always knew my time on a cooked SAD (standard Australian/American Diet) was limited because l always knew of the consequences of sticking to SAD long term. But not only that, with the high dollar cost of private health care and private surgery and the dreadful state of the public health care system…l knew l had no choice but to go back to a raw living foods lifestyle with plenty of exercise. I knew by 40 years of age (if not before) things would start going down hill with my health like with everyone else around me, so l knew l had to move back to better waters. Anyway....enjoyed cooked food and beer for long enough, it's time to move on and start taking responsibility for my health because l know no-one else will.
Another problem with our food supply is that too many F***wits have played around with it these days. The only way to ensure proper food is to be able to sprout it. Even fruit and vegies have been tampered with.

WHO recommendations to sprout producers
Even before the outbreak, the WHO had issued specific recommendations to sprout producers, as the popularity of sprouted seeds increased significantly owing to their nutritional value.
However with the increase, reports of food-borne outbreaks associated with such raw vegetable sprouts raised concerns among public health agencies and consumers.
Investigations indicated that it is most likely that the pathogens originate from the seeds, which may be contaminated in the field or during harvesting, storage or transportation.
During the germination process in sprout production, low levels of pathogens present on seeds may quickly reach levels high enough to cause disease, therefore specific care is needed.

shooey - I'm not knocking your diet - just giving you guidelines on e coli - its hard to guard against when you aren't cooking stuff.
The bit the media isn't mentioning though - and its an important qualifier - in most cases if you are reasonably healthy e coli will make you sick but isn't a big threat - its a threat to those whose immune system is compromised - say - babies, sick people on chemo for cancer, old persons (eg AAAC and FNB posters) , HIV persons etc...

Enough whisky will provide protection against the dangers of raw food and the risk of food poisoning. I'm surprised, unlike the macrobiotic folk, that these raw foodies haven't twigged, or should I say, sprouted to it's dietry benefits.
