Thomas Mahon Shirts.

One of the shops in town is offering Thomas Mahon "bespoke" shirts. I looked though the swatches and really liked some of the fabrics, the BD collar also looked really great. The guy in the shop told me Mahon makes his own fabrics, can't find anything to comfirm this on line. The measurements are taken using a ready made shirt and altered where they need to be for a better fit for my body and made up with the collar/cuff of your choice. So its more made to measure than bespoke, I'm really taken with some of the fabrics on offer but have doubts wether this guy really knows what he's selling or even if he knows how to measure correctly. Has anyone tried this service? How did it turn out?

Re: Thomas Mahon Shirts.

Maybe your vendor is confusing Thomas Mahon with Thomas Mason ?

Re: Thomas Mahon Shirts.

Simon needs to post more information about the vendor. Thomas Mahon does not make fabrics so Thomas Mason is a reasonable guess. Mahon used to offer shirts made by Rayner & Sturgess in Gillingham, Kent. The same firm used to make for Emma Willis but she has set up her own workshop in Gloucestershire.

Re: Thomas Mahon Shirts.

mmmmm...I think you may have something there K.A. The swatch book cover in the shop looks the same as the one shown on the Mason site. The guy deffo said Mahon, whom I'd never heard of and looked up when I got home. Simple mistake to make...I suppose...

On the top floor in Paleet, Karl Johans gata, Oslo.

Having looked at the Mason site I reckon I'm going to give them a try. Maybe see if someone a bit more senior can measure me though. Maybe it was talking to someone English that made him burt out Mahon.

Re: Thomas Mahon Shirts.

It said in the swatch books that the fabrics were made in Lancashire, I shall go back tomorrow after work and check it out again.

Re: Thomas Mahon Shirts.

In Sydney one of the big mesnwear chains called Oxford Shop sells Thomas Mahon fabric shirts. Probably made in PRC though. This is their top of the line fabric/shirt.
