Query: iPad for corporate use

Is anybody here using the iPad for board papers, minutes, agendas etc?

I'd be interested in any evaluation papers and or experiences.

One mob I'm with we are almost inevitably getting them I think. Possibly waiting fro the new one - mainly because of USB connectivity - other wise its the same size and resolution as the existing one although with more RAM and 30% lighter..

You can hook up a wireless keyboard to it to type minutes and that kind of thing.

Re: Query: iPad for corporate use

Writing this on the iPad got it last night. Curates egg.

Good for short documents , Its slowing me down by a factor of 5x I reckon on speed reading large reports. The agenda and board papers from last night are 300 pages. Scrolling through on a 10 screen is a pain, however the enlarge feature works well just by squeezing or spreading fingers, word processing and notes on .PDFs are fiddly pain and not intuitive or easy. Keyboard on screen which I,m using now to do this post is surprisingly good and ok.

Battery life is great as advertised on tin  , easily getting 10 hours on a charge.

It's light enough to carry, works ok in bed ,. Havent tried to read a proper novel yet in bed so we,ll see. As you can see from this the apostrophe is on the numrical keyboard which requires a swap of mode. The auto spell checker is good so far.

Happy to answer qeiries
