Crustopher Bruce von Threepiece, aka "Crusty", reports, "I am attending the Summer Fete at the Metropolitan Museum this evening - a black-tie dinner dance. If 'prom pictures' are taken, I'll post them tomorrow."

If any of you philistines accidentally find yourself there tonight, please let us know.

K-Bosh brags about his armory, left over from the days of defending Madison Ave. against the hordes of Puerto Ricans:

But he apparently shares exotic tastes with another, less violent, minority: "As I say every Winter to my eldest, "Beretta jammed again? OK, you can borrow one of the 9's but not my plastic .45." :-) But I must admit a tinge of jealousy when he takes out his Taurus. I'd eat yer dogs for lunch..."

"Just had my new, 90% mohair tonik black suit delivered from my tailor (William Field - pics to come) and I'm now ready to hit urban night spots in markedly better style than was the case yesterday. But what shirt to wear when in, say, a night club? I want to signal hip, fun, and style while standing out."

Q: "What does the style colective have to say?"

A: "mustard yellow vneck tshirt. Target has them."

Genuine 'daguerrotypical' evidence has emerged from That Most Hallowed Home of Chappism on the 'net, the http://www.sheridanclub.co.uk/sheridan/sheridan.htm:

No, this is not the Fat Controller. It's Mr Blah, 'Registrar' of the club out for an 'evening stroll':
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dr_blah/5835743062/

Here he is 'at leisure', in his Victorian blutocrat's 'abode':
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dr_blah/5835185767/

But let us turn to the actual members and let's put names to faces. These appear to have been taken at the club's annual Oxfort 'punting trip', all very Brideshead, only they're not really as beautiful as Sebastian and Charles:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dr_blah/5788743778/

Don't know who the mean fellow to the right is, but the cabbage-scented hardships of his upbringing are too deeply etched into his fizzog to ever pass muster.
The runt to the left with the serious overbite is Robert Evans, self-declared 'Lord Finsbury Windermere Compton-Bassett', whose lifetime wish is to enter the Welsh Guards. Sadly, he only went to Kent Uni, but through judicious arse-crawling actually got himself an interview. He failed to complete the required number of push-ups- a fact he blithely told everyone, so this is not made up!

And who's that in the centre? Mr Mitsurihato, Tintins adversary in the 'Blue Lotus'?
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dr_blah/5788692138/
No, it's the Count of Brum himself! The fellow in the colgate blazer is 'Lord' Rupert, another Black Country dweller, satanist, plumber and sartorial adviser for The Chap (I kid you not!)

Rupert and Blah like each other very much. They live together, they go everywhere together. Here they are, trying to drum up business for Rupert's plumbing business:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dr_blah/2435042678/

But maybe the ladies are easier on the eye? After all, the FL ladies' guild counts the occasional stunner in its ranks...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dr_blah/5788159213/
No, they're not.

I think we need another 'daguerrotype' of Evans:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dr_blah/5788145137/
Seriously, how deluded can one man (boy-child) be?!

AHA- one of them did manage to grab a bird:

Her slightly drugged look tells me that she can't be there of her own free will, though. Obviously.

I don't know zuckermandl, I think most of the Chap set are doing it all with their tongues firmly planted in their cheeks. A brief spin through 'The Chap', either online or in print, will confirm this.

Certainly there are some among them that take it all too seriously, perhaps Mr Blah is a good example, but at least they do seem to have good taste.

A quick look through his photostream shows plenty of interesting stuff and if button up, suede top G&G or Aubercy boots are your thing there are plenty to see

From what I know the whole gang is led by a few folks with an interest in performance art and /or vintage clothes who have parlayed their interests into a business hosting parties and tea parties for various brands like Hendricks Gin.

Beats the hell out of Ask Andy any day.
