One of my first quality jackets was a Corneliani years ago, which fit me as if it were custom-made, although, I don't know anything about the brand these days.

Prada is more of a fashion brand that I wouldn't recommend.

I like Pal Zileri ties (nice patterns and colours although the current crop are too narrow for my taste) and have several that have lasted well.  Not cheap but good value if you can pick them up in a sale.

I've had 2 MTM Corneliani suits with mixed results - the first one is a pretty good fit (IMHO) and I really like the fabric and it still looks sharp after 2 years of regular wear.  The fabric on the second is showing early signs of wear and I suspect it may look a bit tatty in the not too distant future.  I think their casual wear is nice and well made - only issue for us Brits is the price now that the Pound is a banana currency, even against the Euro.

Never bought Prada - probably for the reasons already mentioned.

A lot of these Italian brands have their garments made in China. They are finished Italy so that they can put "made in Italy" on the label. I have seen nothing in those brands' Bond Street stores that I would buy. They scream "poseur" and "wannabe" at full volume.

I guess Prada Sartori is a off shoot of Prada?  Their suiting fabrics are made by Bower Roebuck in Yorkshire so the fabric will be top notch, though I've heard Prada suits aren't made very well. Perhaps Parda Sartori is a rung up the ladder from your standard Prada suit? If its the name of their bespoke service, that is done by Belvest in Italy. (Belvest also source fabric from Bower Roebuck BTW).
Prada get a bad press on clothing forums but I've an MJ by them in a very small gingham and the check matches perfect everywhere, shoulders, pockets and the yoke, (if its called a yoke on a jacket?), its a great cut too.



My fav shoes are by Corneliani, sometimes I get them out the box just to wank over.

Had my first day yesterday, Prada Sartori is basically made in the Prada factory, seems to be the trend to call it Prada Sartori, when Sartori is it's real name. Didn't see much of it though, found the Pal Zaleri and Corneliani to be really quite nice, but I don't have the experience of high-end to really know. Most of the sports jackets were retailing a the £450 - £650 mark. The materials all seemed to be of a very high quality.
