Pocketsquare: yes or no?

Do you wear them or prefer to avoid them. lf you don't wear them, why not?

Re: Pocketsquare: yes or no?

l get dressed very quickly these days. Takes less than 5 minutes. Suits cut a very serious impression so l don't wear a pocketsquare too often with them, but l do wear pocketsquares often with casual jackets. The pocketsquare is just thrown in because l like a casual uncared for look that doesn't look studied.

A careful fold can be good on certain occasions, but not for daily business so much, and certainly not for weekend wear.

Re: Pocketsquare: yes or no?

Usually no, but I'll pop one in if I've a mind to. I'm a "shake and stuff" type- no fancy folds for me. FWIW, I own no white linen squares.

Re: Pocketsquare: yes or no?

l'm sure really important folk can easily get away with a fancy stiff upper lip fold, but those folk are very few and far between.

I like them, although they almost invariably draw comment where I live. Stuffed only. Over the past year or two I've noticed that almost everyone in the American media has started wearing them, usually in too-safe solid colors.

Re: Pocketsquare: yes or no?

I love them, sometimes fold a white one but otherwise just wack them in.

You do see some right odd looking ones in Mod clubs, really stupid ones with sewn in folds and then to top it off they push one of those shit pins though the pocket to keep it in place.

Blatant Modernist.

Re: Pocketsquare: yes or no?

I have about 95 squares, mostly silk, some cotton and linen, so obviously I like 'em and wear 'em. I'll "rock the square" whenever I am trying to turn myself out nicely. If I am just throwing on one of my "beater" sport coats to walk the dog, I usually won't bother with the square, however.

They do seem to be more common than they were a decade or so ago.

Personally I wouldn't wear them even if I'm paid to. But then if you think you are as big as Will the shrill, Mantoni, Mafootofu, Iammitt, by all means and help youself.

Evenings only and generally with casual outfits -- never at work.
