Regarding your concerns, to avoid looking like some anonymous young banker from the late 1990s, or Tony Blair from any period, you need the hard-core torso shaping and a non-intuitive patterned cloth.

EDIT: Also, to wear this you need to be tall and rake thin. If I remember correctly from past photos, you (Yachtie) are sturdily built, so my sense it this style probably won't work for you.
