I can notice that my bespoke trousers with hand-sewn "ass seams" are shaped better over the seat and that the legs hang with "line". When ironing the trousers flat, I also notice that the curve of the "J" of the seam is more pronounced than I ever remember seeing in RTW. I also asked my tailor about the "ass seam". He says that when hand sewn, the cloth around the seam can be set in such way that it curves out the necessary amount when worn. I guess it is a feature that becomes more relevant when one doesn't have a flat behind.
