Great pictures, thanks. St Austell Odeon was white cement-faced. There's a picture of the auditorium that I'll try to fetch out. Most of them, especially the free-standing ones, should have been preserved, at least externally; after all many had been internally converted to multi-screen complexes, to meet the simple needs of changing times. Some are listed - Muswell Hill and Leicester Square (which, ironically, they demolished the old Alhambra Theatre to build (!)).
St Austell Odeon was where I saw the first cinema film that I really remember: 'Goldfinger' (another irony, given that Fleming had wanted to call the villain' Erno' and was forced, by legal action to change it to 'Auric'). Completely sickened when it went and someone even sent me pictures of a smiling moron laying into its fabric on a JCB! Smashed to crumbs.
