Re: Another inconvenient and unpopular leader summarily despatched!

I think I am going to write an opera absurda, working title “Muammar”. Music will mostly be copy and pasted from Schostakowitschs “The Nose”. Bulgarian nurses will be dragged onto stage, they have witched Muammars mojo away and are now tortured by looking at his fantasy uniforms to bring it back. His best friends John Bull (dramatic bass), Uncle Sam (heroic tenor) and Europa (100 kg of fleshy white Alt looking like the Übel from the Uckermark) are suddenly making fun of him and don´t want to play with him anymore. Muammar is dragged by a giant umbrella into heaven where he designs steampunkoutfits with outcasts from Sators forum. Buffo will be Berlusconi with tons of vibrato and viagro. Countertenors for Westerwelle and Rösler. The three friends end with singing “Proteggra il giusto cielo“ while Berlusconi is crucified by the Bulgarian nurses singing “Always look on the bright side of life”.

( I am sorry. I think I better go to bed now....)

^He, he, he. Well they're talking about war crimes now for killing Gadaffi in cold blood. You can add a song or too on that to the musical. What about the David Byrne and Fat Boy Slim opera on Imelda Marcos and her shoes, did that ever get produced?

I see no difference in launching rockets from a French fighter plane in an attempt to kill him, or summary executing at close range by stomping on his head and then shooting him in the legs. The only difference is distance. Are we to charge combat toops sent to kill Gadaffi on a premise that shooting him at close range is a war crime, but from the skies it is not?

Well, the answer is likely not to be found after ten or twenty years legal discussion and ramblings in the Hague. But at least it will employ the sons and daughters of the Libyan elite as lawyers and researchers and keep the Hague BS industry suitably oiled and ongoing.

I reckon that President Bashar-al-Assad of Syria is next on the list - http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/22/world/middleeast/qaddafis-death-stirs-new-protests-and-hope-in-syria.html The locals have been protesting since March and Gaddafi's demise will encourage them. The EU expanded its sanctions against Syria about a week ago.

Syria is Iran's closest ally and Ahmadinejad is getting edgy - http://edition.cnn.com/2011/10/21/world/meast/iran-ahmadinejad-interview/ If Assad is overthrown and replaced by a pro-Western leader, the opposition in Iran could rise up again.

Contrary to lies of FNB and Woofboxer, I (and most of the other "Buff Bastards") have been banned from posting on this forum. There are only a few posters left so don't waste your time on here. This forum is dead and nobody cares.

It would be wonderful if events transpired against Assad and the Iranian opposition gained strength. However, lets get it straight, we bombed Gadaffi forces into oblivion and the Libyan opposition merely mopped up. Iran is too strong and Assad's regime too efficient for any opposition to stand a chance without Western intervention, which isn't going to happen after Iraq or with our effete sanctions.

Re: Another inconvenient and unpopular leader summarily despatched!

The problem is, as in Algeria previously and what the opinion polls tell us in Egypt - hence we've had our general chums delay the elections - is that given the democratic vote, the people in these veritable shit holes will vote for autocratic Islamic theocracies who are anti-Western and whose agenda is the creation of the Euro-Arab caliphate. The fighting amongst themselves is only about who is going to control this dystopia.

We shall soon see how this Arab spring degenerates, I wager those Western politicians and journalists who talked up the BS about democracy and rejecting the hard line Islamists will end up as discredited and exposed as intellectually challenged on a level of the Neocons. We shall see, I hope I am wrong for my children's sake.
