I dont think the question is stupid.
I wouldnt wear them myself but if they happened to be in my size and I was on an island with no other shoes to wear (assuming I had unlimited tailored clothes on this island), I would wear them out to say a hot jazz club with a more modern look like a silk shirt (even with a banded collar) under a 3 button dark faille suit or a medium weight cashmere turtleneck with a flannel DBB suit in an interesting color like a light grey/brown. I suppose a dupioni silk sports coat with medium to light grey pants would also work.
Hmmm, thanks....something to think about. Anyone else got some ideas? l only bought them because people were saying that side laced shoes were chick magnets, problem was, when l got them home, l was at a loss as what to wear them with. l've only worn them occasionally around the house so far (had em for over a year).
True FNB: they are not my favourites either. l would prefer a traditional shoe.

I've got similar side-laces shoes, bespoke, in dark brown goat leather, sleeker than the ones in the photo and with chiseled point. Love them. An early 60s Mod style.
I wear them with suits (tipically mohair or worsted SBs and 6/3 DBs) and high collared shirts, or with mohair hipsters and lightweight knitted tops (John Smedley or ish).
Mainly for clubbing, even if right yesterday I was wearing them at the office (a quite conservative investment company)...The Dandy inside me...
As for chicks, you're kinda right, they might help to start a conversation...then it's up to you of course;-)
Cheers,
Daniele

l can read trickster's minds like a master guru at the moment. Bullshit does not baffle my brains anymore. Remember that raw grasses/weeds and meditation makes for brilliant minds who perceive very much indeed. l can read the human condition very well.
