Hello fellas,
First post on these forums and I wanted to inquire about Maurice Sedwell's academy on the Row... I'm interested in spending a few months on the other side of the pond, and was considering the program at SRA just out of personal pursuit and interest. I was hoping to gather some info from you discerning folks; if anyone happens to be in the know or have further details to offer. I've no previous background, other than a recent obsession with bespoke suiting. What are your thoughts?
Cheers,
Oliver

Bump from earlier this summer... nothing at all?
This site tells you about the courses, duration and cost. Also gives you contact numbers.

BTW. Might be worth taking some sort of sewing course where you are before you take a course on.
Perspective? Well it costs a shit load of money for 12 weeks of part time training in an expensive city. You'll have to support yourself while your doing it. I belive a tailor trains for a number of years full time so you'll not learn a vast amount, and you can't sew a button on anything (correctly). Maybe it'd be better if you do a sewing or even dress making course and ask around local tailors if you can help out in some way for experience for a couple of years. That way you can do these courses with a bit more idea what the tutor is talking about and gain more from them.
Why don't you just ring them and ask what they think?

Thanks, was thinking about taking some local courses and asking my alterations tailor about doing a summer apprenticeship... I just really want to spend some time on the 'other side' and already have a flat offered for a few months. Tough decision, and the costs aren't all too enticing!
Tell you where you might find some feedback about it...and for sure some good advice about starting out...
