Hand-wash only. Stergene is good.
In a tie? These are great...

I was sorry that the very nice McGeorge, which came from an esteemed forumite across the pond, was a little too snug around my throat. Colin does not appear to experience these problems. I think I must have been lynched in a previous existence.

Apologies if these chaps have been mentioned before but have had 2 from them (both bought in a country fair). Very thick, warm and durable.
Saw a few at John Simons today, 130 apiece.
Anyone ordered from Spirit of Shetland, how thick are they? Are they any good?
Who, was the maker? thanks.
I think I paid £8 for my hand-framed.
That's nice. Dare one ask how much?
$50 shipped from the States. It topped at $36, my maximum bid. Fair enough.
I was watching that, but decided not to bid in the end. Wasn't sure about the elbow patches. A great looking shetland nonetheless.
That's not half bad. Rather envy you.
Can't wait to see it in real life. I think it was decribed as "mostly greyish brownish", which doesn't help, but it sounds good enough for me. It's the flecks that made me want it though.
Oh, Donegal is lovely.
THANKS!

Whilst not a shetland, I saw these in the flesh the other week, and they have a great cut as well as been British made.

Neither this is oppressive nor this is too low. Lots of colors are Over here in the Colonies it doesn't have the reputation of being low brow.
For the narrow neck JP Gaul once craved - Christopher Haynes. It'll get you in a chokehold, my good sir. I have a nice one in a darkish green, subtly flecked. A very simple sweater that looks nice (if somewhat predictable nowadays) with Levis and desert boots.
I can't get my head around you guys discussing Shetland Wool and other jumpers. Where I am in Northern Finland it's been +30C for the past week and I've been working outside getting bitten by horse flies and attacked by mosquitos. I live by a lake so it's wild water swimming every couple of hours. Back in UK tomorrow for some R &R at Weatherspoons and other disreputable establishments.
But anyway I checked out Alveys tip off Northern Fells company and they have some very tasty Shetland Wool knitwear for sale.
