This Bettye Lavette tune is being used for a ready to make slimming pasta thing advert on TV here. I'm driving the missus nuts by dancing round the room when it comes on.

I went to the weekly blues jam/open mic last night at a local blues club. Great night. Heard some Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, even an Al Green song. But the highlight for me was this Bill Withers song, a bluesier version with a kid on harmonica that was great.

"McQueen's message was signaled through subtraction... in a tweed or herringbone jacket and a ribbed swearer he had an electric austerity".

Yeah thought it sounded a bit like Pass the Hatchet was Twine Time part of New Orleans early funk sound too?

Re: Groovin' at the I Spot -

I think Twine Time was earlier ('63?) and out of Memphis - probably an influence though. Anyway cool progression (just editied the original post, which I didn't mean to send just yet!).
