l don't like patent shoos either, but for black tie they are a must! Gotta have that dazzling shine with such a smart looking suit. lf you don't have that dazzle on your feet the whole black tie look looks lacking...i've always thought that way since l was a kid...no igent rules for me. A dainty/fancy look with dainty fancy shoos, that's how it is with black tie.

I was about my business at the Savoy the other week (£41 for three very ordinary drinks, the cocktails which followed were even more, but such silly fun...) and there were some black tie boys there obviously just having a quick one before heading out I know not wear. Pumps on the older two gents & patent oxfords on the younger chaps. All in proper black tie too - Nothing showy, no fancy studs & overblown details.
