I think suede shoes with a heavy flannel wool suit can look ok. If your suit is "fuzzy" then fuzzy shoes can harmonise with a suit:

I'm not mad on the tie and shirt in this example but I think the suede shoes look well with that heavier suit fabric.

I said they can look "ok" - I agree with you calf shoes would be preferable to those fuzzy boys but this is not at all the worst example of suede shoes and a suit. Most of the time it's a horror story, but these are passable with this suit IMO.

FWIW, personally I wear suede/calf specs with suits but not full on suede and a suit
