Marc, I agree with you that the style and fit could be improved. However, something tells me the cloth is the Fox Flannel chalkstripe I showed in a previous post. This cloth is actually very nice and of top-notch quality, perhaps the digital pics don't do it justice. Albeit there are even better flannels out there, softer but equally substantial and durable, Fox do make excellent cloth.

I think any suede shoes, including black, always work with gray flannel. I also use Hermes solid ties (with an "H") that have sheen with flannels, blazers, and brown suede shoes. These are similar to Tomasso's tie. Cary Grant did wear black suede shoes, but, then again, he'd have looked elegant in overalls covered with grease.
I'm not posting to "defend" Tomasso, who doesn't need it, but, as with so many other posts on these fora, to indicate similarities. As to my Hermes ties, I (not so eagerly) await my punishment at the hands (I meant the pens) of the anti-Euro faction.

Steven
Could the beard be knotted & worn a la mode?
Horace the suit is quite nice. I need to look at the movie again and I think there's a lot of controversy around that suit but didn't Cary wear a blue-grey subdued POW pattern in North by North West? I am not one to be picayune but I am not even sure myself. It's hard to see what a pattern on an article of clothing actually is unless you get a studio detail shot.
Calling Richard T?
I just took a quick look at the DVD. His suit definitely has a pattern to it and working buttonholes on the sleeves, to my eyes.
I think my suit and tie combo makes me look more like Pesci than Grant.
