Why in the heck are these old Bean duffle bags (made in the USA) going for so much money on Ebay?

I have several, of which I was going to post pics. Mine have the apparently much sought after olive drab strap, the use of which is uncomfortable as hell. They used to come in at least three sizes. In the olive color you see here, and in a navy blue. They were made extremely well. And Bean would fix them for free, for the life.

I routinely wore my Brooks button downs until they were frayed beyond recognition.

Still no luck.
Maybe if I wore Zimmerlli (sp?) I'd get her attention?
Those AndyPants I bought last year seem to repel the chicks like nothing else on earth.
I'm hurt that none of you cretins are able to appreciate my wrinkled & tattered Brooksesque Chang shirt.

Sorry, H. - I like it very much. I would have said so sooner but anything on the internet which isn't to do with me comes very low down on my list of priorities. It's a fault of mine I'm trying to work on...
I like the shade of pink very much &, although it's a little more creased than I would wear myself, I agree that Oxford cloth looks best without its surface nap (napp?) too much flattened down by ironing.
Ralph Lauren said in this month's GQ that he never gives anything away and wears his pants and shirts for 20 years. Astaire had 40 year old suits altered. Whether you want to be in this company or if it represents authority (vs anecdote) is a personal decision.
Regards,
Steven
It's not Brooks pink certainly...
Is it white?
God, my eyes are bloodshot today!
Brother H.,
As my favorite cuffs and ,collars begin, to fray I think of the, lessons of the tattered Trad .
Without shame I, will still wear these sentimental, satorials.
