I am sorry for skewing the numbers and ruining your trial, Terry, but I must confess to having viewed the thread at least fifty times.  I kept checking for additional instructions in the form of an edit.  In full disclosure I should also mention that I desperately wanted to see you top 1K so I created a chain letter and sent it to all of my online friends.  I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive.

ps given the speed and far reaching ability of the chain letter I am curious to know if you received one?

Is rose gold Russian? I know nothing about it.
Like you I just got handed a pile of loot when I was 21. All the 'Gentlemanly' items are in rose gold. Victorian stuff mainly with a few Edwardian additions. Watch, chains, fobs, rings, card case, vesta cases, cigarette case, a real pile of junk. My brother has most of it now as I do not have a son. It's all really heavy stuff too which makes you wonder about the state of our forebears' pockets. They must have worn through very quickly.

Lighter & more stylish & 'modern' to my eye are some nice Art Deco items from another branch of the family which mix white gold with yellow gold piping. You could easily wear/use them today if you so wished.

I like silver much more than gold, although the polishing is a bugger. Regency silver is my favourite no matter what condition it's in. I think it's a nice period in history when a fella could have a little fun... 'Demmed good sport' & all that.

I quite like cameos & all that 'intaglia' stuff, if that's what it's called, too.
And Mourning rings - I love a good Mourning ring.
This is the stuff to put your money into I think so you can pass it on to whoever.
